One of my favourite things about Christmas is the tradition of unleashing the decs and filling the entire house with fairy lights and all things Christmas & cosy.
This year is my first Christmas in my first home and I’ve gone above and beyond in the decorations and the festivities. Every room is in some way decorated with fairy lights, Christmas crafts or festive smelly candles. I decided to decorate on the first weekend of December, that way I could really take in and enjoy the countdown to Christmas Day.
Nothing means more to me than feeling cosy and warm in my home, and so far I think I’ve achieved this. I’ve loved coming down the stairs in the mornings to twinkling lights and sitting by the fire at night with a mug of my famous ‘Hot choci choc choc chocolate’. So here’s a sneak peek inside my home at Christmas time, enjoy!
The living room is the main room in most households, and what could say Christmas better than an overload of garlands, fairy lights and sweet crafty hanging garlands for all your Christmas cards!
This was one decoration I was most excited to hang, I see it as a right of passage, a tradition that once you hang your first Christmas wreath your officially home!
The star attraction at Christmas time! I love copper so I wanted to incorporate it into my tree with my other festive favourite colours; gold & white. I always say you can’t have a Christmas tree without some family touches. On my tree I have some favourite baubles that my family have bought me over the years. Fair to say some don’t exactly go with the copper, gold & white theme but I adore the feeling of adding these memorable touches to a tree. And yes that’s a hedgehog! I can’t go without a little piece of my animal madness attaching itself onto my Christmas tree.
Being able to decorate my own staircase at Christmas is a dream come true. It’s nothing grand, but to me being able to walk down these stairs on Christmas morning will make the greatest start to the day!
I mean, you just have to right!
A festive Christmas home would never be a home without a little bit of snow, your love and your favourite pooch!! MERRY CHRISTMAS.
